Parley — Privacy Policy

Parley is published by Zee Palm ("we", "us"). This policy explains exactly what the app collects, where it goes, and how to get rid of it. It describes the app as it actually works, not a generic template.

The short version

We collect your email address, the conversations you have in the app, and any photos you attach to a message.
Your messages are sent to Anthropic to generate replies. That is the core function of the app.
We do not sell your data, we do not show ads, and we do not use your conversations to train any model.
You can delete your account and everything in it from inside the app, at any time.

What we collect

We do not collect your contacts, your location, your device identifiers for advertising, or your browsing activity. Parley contains no advertising SDKs and no third-party analytics.

Who else processes your data

We use a small number of processors, each for one clearly defined job:

Supabase — hosting, database, authentication and file storage.
Anthropic — generates the replies. Your message text, the recent conversation, and any photo you attach are sent to Anthropic for this purpose. Anthropic does not use data submitted through its API to train its models.
Replicate and OpenAI — generate contact portraits. These receive only a description of a public figure. They never receive your messages or your photos.
RevenueCat and Apple — handle subscriptions and purchases. We never receive your card details.

What we never do

We do not sell or rent your personal data to anyone.
We do not use your conversations to train AI models, ours or anyone else's.
We do not read your conversations except where you explicitly ask for support and share them with us, or where we are legally compelled.

Deleting your data

In the app: Settings → Delete account. This permanently removes your profile, every conversation and message, every photo you attached, your daily summaries, your usage history and any remaining credits. It cannot be undone, and remaining credits are not refundable.

Signing out does not delete anything. If you would rather we did it for you, email us and we will action it within 30 days.

Retention

We keep your data for as long as your account exists. When you delete your account the data listed above is removed immediately. Backups are overwritten on a rolling 30-day cycle, after which no copy remains.

About the AI contacts

Every contact in Parley is an AI simulation built from the public record. No contact is the real person, no contact speaks for the real person, and nothing a contact says is a genuine quotation. Replies are generated and may be wrong. Nothing in the app is professional, legal, medical or financial advice.

Children

Parley is not intended for children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect data from them. If you believe a child has created an account, contact us and we will delete it.

Your rights

Depending on where you live you may have the right to access, correct, export or erase your personal data, and to object to processing. The delete option in the app covers erasure. For anything else, email us — we will respond within 30 days.

Changes

If we change this policy materially we will update the date above and notify you in the app before the change takes effect.
