Parley — Terms of Service

These terms are an agreement between you and Zee Palm ("we", "us") covering your use of the Parley app. By using Parley you accept them. If you do not, please do not use the app.

What Parley is

Parley is an entertainment and learning app. Its contacts are AI simulations of notable public figures, generated from the public record.

No contact in Parley is the real person. No contact speaks for, represents, or is endorsed by the real person, their estate, or anyone connected to them. Nothing a contact says is a genuine quotation, statement or opinion of the real person, even when it sounds like one. Replies are generated by an AI model and can be inaccurate, incomplete or wrong.

Nothing in Parley is professional advice. Do not rely on it for legal, medical, financial, psychological or safety decisions. If you are in crisis, contact your local emergency services or a qualified professional.

Your account

You must be at least 13 years old to use Parley. You are responsible for your account and for keeping your password secure. One person, one account. You can delete your account at any time from Settings → Delete account.

Credits and subscriptions

Parley runs on credits. Generating a reply, creating a new contact, or generating a portrait spends credits. A subscription grants an allotment of credits each billing period.

• Subscriptions are billed through your Apple ID and renew automatically unless cancelled at least 24 hours before the period ends.
• Manage or cancel a subscription in your device's Settings → Apple ID → Subscriptions. We cannot cancel it for you.
• Credits have no cash value, are not transferable, and cannot be exchanged for money.
• Unused credits expire when your subscription ends and are not refunded when you delete your account.
• Refunds for App Store purchases are handled by Apple under their policy, not by us.

We may change pricing or credit allotments for future billing periods. We will tell you in the app before a change affects you.

Acceptable use

You agree not to:

• present anything generated in Parley as a genuine statement, quotation or endorsement by a real person;
• use Parley to harass, defame, impersonate or deceive anyone;
• attempt to create a contact based on a private individual, or on anyone in order to target, harass or misrepresent them;
• use Parley to generate unlawful content, or content sexualising minors;
• attempt to circumvent the credit system, extract prompts, or access the service other than through the app.

We may suspend or terminate an account that breaks these rules.

Content

What you write stays yours. You grant us only the licence we need to run the service: to store your messages and transmit them to our AI provider so a reply can be generated. We do not use your conversations to train AI models.

Generated replies are provided for your personal, non-commercial use. Given how they are produced, we make no claim of ownership over them and cannot guarantee they are unique.

Availability

We aim to keep Parley running but we do not guarantee uninterrupted service. We may change, suspend or discontinue features. If we discontinue the service entirely we will give reasonable notice and let you export or delete your data first.

Disclaimers and liability

Parley is provided "as is", without warranties of any kind to the extent permitted by law. To the maximum extent permitted by law, our total liability to you for any claim relating to Parley is limited to the amount you paid us in the twelve months before the claim. We are not liable for indirect or consequential loss, or for decisions you take based on generated content.

Nothing here limits liability that cannot be limited by law, including for death or personal injury caused by negligence, or for fraud.

Changes to these terms

We may update these terms. We will change the date above and notify you in the app before material changes take effect. Continuing to use Parley after that means you accept the new terms.

Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of the Islamic Republic of Pakistan, and the courts of Lahore have exclusive jurisdiction, except where the mandatory consumer-protection laws of your country of residence give you additional rights or a different forum.
